Kimberly-Clark and Kleenex: Stop Clearcutting Ancient Forests

Kimberly-Clark is destroying ancient forests like the magnificent North American Boreal forest to create one time use tissue products including the Kleenex brand. The North American Boreal forest stretches from Alaska, across Canada, is the largest tract of ancient forest left in North America and represents 25 percent of the world's remaining ancient forests.

Kimberly-Clark clears these ancient forests, essential in fighting climate change and providing home to wildlife like caribou, wolves, eagles and bears, into products that are flushed down the toilet or thrown away even though ecologically sound alternatives exist.

What can you do?

The International Day of Action for the Boreal on November 3rd Forest is a day where people from all over the world are joining campaign activities to tell companies like Kimberly-Clark to stop destroying the great northern Boreal ancient forest.

You can participate by helping us to send a clear message to Kimberly-Clark to stop destroying ancient forests and start using more recycled fibre. Here are 3 things to do today:

  1. Don't purchase Kimberly-Clark tissue products.

Choose ancient forest friendly alternatives instead. Click here for a list of products sold in Canada and the US.

If you don't live in North America when shopping for tissue products look for those eco-products that have a high recycled content.

  2. Call Kimberly-Clark now.

Kimberly-Clark and Kleenex are flushing ancient forests down the toilet! Join the International Boreal Day of Action call-in to tell Kimberly Clark's top executive in charge of its environmental practices to stop destroying ancient forests.
